Keeping it Cold

Going home today is a sample of your child's work with solving problems in math using addition and subtraction.  Please read the attached note with their sample for more details.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Today we did a science experiment with testing different insulating materials for keeping popsicles from melting.  Here is what we saw and learned:
I learned that different materials can make things melt less than other materials or more than another material - Grace T
I learned that cotton balls are the best insulator to use - Chase
I learned that the amount of liquid that melts can be less or more depending on what type of material you use - Thandi
I was shocked that the tin foil was a poor insulator!!! - Ms G (me too! said everyone else)
Ask your child - What was the best insulator (had the LEAST amount of melted popsicle).  What was the worst/poorest insulator? (had the most amount of melted popsicle.
What makes a good insulator?
