Highlights from our Tuesday:
We played a new game in Phys Ed called Jump, Leap, Hop, Creep and we played a game called Fish Vs. Kangaroos - Zoie
Before we had Phys Ed we were solving math questions with money - Cayden
Today, we continued to look at the picture of the land from the East Coast, the Prairies and the North and brainstormed what makes the land unique in each of these places.
Math Check:
Tonight, practise skip counting the coin money in your mom and dad's wallet tonight - count the nickels and dimes - How much is in their wallets?
Bring in one total from a wallet for a teacher check!
We continue to practise skip counting by 5s and 10s. Your child should be able to start at different starting numbers other than 10 and 5. For example: Counting by 5s starting at 35 - 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60....
For 5s the number should still end with a 0 or 5.
For counting by 10s, they should be able to start at any number between 0 - 100, and we try to NOT practise with numbers that end with 0. For example: Counting by 10s starting at 27 - 27, 37, 47, 57, 67, 77...
These are good counting skills to practise at home or in the call on a daily basis and help your child's growing understanding of numbers and number sense to 100.
